This was our first Halloween in our neighborhood. We were excited to take Andrew around to say hello to the neighbors and perhaps meet neighbors we haven’t met yet. It was a great experience! Andrew sort of understood the whole Trick or Treating process. Sort of. Haha. He was really more interested in his glow stick and running on our neighbors lawns. He even helped us pass out candy to Trick or Treaters at our door! I hope he loved the entire experience. I know we did.

Marc’s parents and Courteney came over to spend Halloween with Andrew. They even got him a Halloween costume! He looks like a Shaolin Prince/Emperor haha. It was awesome. Again, the hat makes the costume especially since this one had a braided ponytail! It was great!

Ed & Kiyoko had a costume party at their new place in LB. They went all out with the decoration and food for their party. I loved seeing everyone in costume! All the little girls kept trying to scare Ed the pirate. Haha it was cute. Fun times!

I really wanted to take Andrew to Disneyland during the Halloween season. I’ve never been during this season so I was super excited. They do such a food job of decorating and getting into the Halloween spirit.

We decided to do the L.A. Cancer Challenge 5K again this year. This is probably my favorite race to do. It’s held at work on the VA Campus, it’s close to home, we are encouraged to wear costumes, it’s for a great cause and it’s just good fun. I must admit, I’m a bit disappointed that we didn’t dress up as a team, but that just motivates me to be better prepared next year. Although, Andrew was dressed in his Ewok costume.
We even convinced Courteney and Kim to join us! So I didn’t really run; I wasn’t feeling well. So we walked most of it. Plus my mom and my coworkers came out to cheer us on. It’s always nice to see familiar faces along the race route.
The best part was when we got to the 3 mile mark, we all sprinted (ran for our lives) toward the finish. Courteney and I were determined to beat Marc especially since he was pushing Andrew in the stroller. We were all laughing and yelling toward the finish line. It was epic! Courteney won by 2 full seconds. Marc came in 2nd and I was last a measly .3 seconds behind Marc. Kim, beat us all by 15 mins Hahaha
I can’t wait till the next race we do together.

This year Andrew’s Halloween Costume is an Ewok from Star Wars. The costume looks super cute! What makes the costume is the Ewok head piece. When choosing his costume I forgot the fact that Andrew thoroughly dislikes anything on his head. No hats, no hoods, nothing.
But he wore the head piece long enough for one photo.

I made Marc try on the Yoda ears. Haha. He’s such a good sport. But I have one question for you: Yoda or Shrek? Hahahaha

Pumpkin carving was definitely something we wanted Andrew to experience. I must say, It is not an easy task. Haha. At least it gives us practice for the coming years.

Andrew and Drew are destined to go to Loyola High School because both Marc and Vince were Cubs.

We went to this year’s Westchester Halloween festival. They had games, rides, food, fire trucks and more. We stumbled upon a pumpkin painting area hosted by Otis, the nearby Art School, and let Andrew’s creativity run wild. It was great! I must say, I’ve never seen a better looking pumpkin! Momma is proud of her mini Picasso.
