So a bunch of us (JC, Jen, Tara, Eddie, Bobby and Gilzy) hit up a tapas joint called Manchego up in Santa Monica. It was a cool little joint that allowed you to bring your own alcohol. Marilyn and I brought a couple of wines and Gilzy also brought a couple. Their chorizo and sardines tapas were the bomb! Gotta check it out.
The funniest thing that happened at that place was that the moment we all walked in the restaurant, a guy who worked there went up to me and offered to buy my car…straight up. He was all like “Do you know what you have?” I was like “Ummm, yeah.” Seems like he had an ’01 with 100k miles as a daily driver and wanted another one. Sheesh…must be nice to have that luxury.
Some of us decided to go to AC afterwards. Unfortunately, we didn’t end up staying there that long cuz we were all a bit tired and the house music being played was eh. Oh wells. Couple more days till the New Year…whoo hoo!!!
Check out the pics from that night here.
Merry Christmas!
It was an awesome Christmas this year…the best. We were able to spend time with both of our families and have a blast. We both received awesome gifts. Marilyn was even able to figure out what the two gifts I got her were lol (I need to work on my wrapping more). As for my gift, she made me this picture book of us for the past year…pure awesomeness.
This Christmas will also be a UNforgettable one because during one of our White Elephants, I THOUGHT that a mini-camera on a keychain would have been dope (and it IS over $20). WRONG! It was deemed the worst present lol. I’ll be hearing about this one for a while. I was made into an example of what NOT to bring…at least I didn’t bring a calendar HAHAHAHAHAHA.
YAY! Here’s to hoping it’s a short day at work
Merry Christmas (Eve) to everyone!
On a side note, speaking of work…check out Billy’s pictures of IBD’s White Elephant here.
Courteney created a video for Chicharon Adventures…

You guys need to check out this video...it is pretty dope. I was able to get all the people and all the movies...EXCEPT for the girl. Is that Halle Berry? Oh well, watch it.

So much to write about, but no time right now. I’ll do a recap shortly. I do, however, want to share reason # 2598743043 why I love Marc Geraldez.
So we finally finished wrapping presents this weekend. It was fun watching a movie and wrapping presents for those we love. Elbon was lit, Nikki was napping and we had tape, wrapping paper and boxes everywhere. I loved it! Goodness all around.
Honestly, we’re not very good at wrapping presents. I’m not quite sure how people manage to wrap so perfectly with nice clean folds, pretty bows and most importantly no dog fur stuck to the tape. Sigh… not us. I mean, we struggled cutting the wrapping paper to size. lol. There was one gift that Marc was wrapping that received special attention. haha. He cut the wrapping paper a bit short.
We laughed and I suggested that he rewrap the present. Of course, he insisted it was fine. (Geez!) He swore he could fix it. I laughed and watched him measure, cut and tape. Here is his idea of fixing the gap in the wrapped gift
Hilarious! How can you not love this guy?
This was a busy weekend!
Started off the weekend by meeting a bunch of people at Islands at Long Beach. It was great food with great friends…couldn’t ask for more. Also, we got COOKIES out of it…WHOO HOO. Check out the pics here.
Then headed out to D&Bs to celebrate Robert’s Graduation. Moment of the night was taking a picture of Marilyn holding a knife to Robert’s neck (pics). Classic! I think Robert’s still a little groggy from all the drinks he had Friday night
He took it all like a champ. Congrats again Robert!
Saturday…we drove to Ojai to meet with Fr. Charles for our Marriage Preparation class. This time, he mostly talked about when Marilyn and I would have kids. We told him probably within a year of our marriage because we wanted to travel first. We didn’t know the Church was so strict as to the timeline in which to have kids. Who knew? But I think he was impressed by the fact that Marilyn and I have already talked about most of the issues he is bringing up. YAY for M&M!
I don’t know what it is but we were TIRED when we got back…we were only supposed to take a half hour nap but we ended up “napping” for 3 hours. Ooops lol. Well we got some well needed rest and then went on to finish off most of our Christmas shopping and wrapping.
Sunday…I was supposed to run 6 miles but I accidentally ran 7. I thought that this route I was taking was 6 miles long…I was mistaken lol. Marilyn was out with cousin while I ran with Nikki. We then headed out to the Valley to set up for Tricia and Jonas’ Engagement Party with cousin and Danny. Tons of food…tons of GOOD food. I have to say that my favorite dish was the flan. OMG…it was sooooo good. I think I gotta hit up Jonas to ask his aunt for the recipe cuz it was killer. I wish I took a picture of it
Here are the pics from the party. Congrats Tricia and Jonas!

Today Marc and I are heading to Ojai for another Marriage Preparation meeting with Father Charles. I’m excited. The first time we met with Father Charles we had a brief overview of what it means to be married. He told us heart warming stories and Marc and I left feeling even more sure that this was the right path for us at this time in our lives. I wonder what we’re going to discuss this morning
