This weekend was packed with great events.  Our weekend started on Friday night at Madame Royale in Hollywood to celebrate Tara’s birthday.  It was fun celebrating with her and her friends.  We also got a surprise when we saw Kara and Robert at the same lounge to celebrate with Kara’s cousin.

We ended Friday night by attending a Michael Jackson tribute in which Tricia and Christina were jamming with Rhythm Natives and the Big Pill.  Great job Tricia and Christine!  We really digged the Man in the Mirror!

Saturday, we had our birthday celebratory lunch at Lucille’s.  Sorry it was last minute but thanks again to everybody who were able to make it out.  Now for those not in the know, Lucille got some dope BBQ.  The nearest one is near Del Amo mall in Torrance.

So Marilyn and I decided to go to Disneyland on our birthday since we’re both free (pure awesomeness).  We only spent about 4 hours there but we were able to get on all the rides we wanted.  We don’t remember how we used to do it as kids but those 4 hours were tiring lol.

Yipeee…today is our birthday   We have 3 days of celebration to look forward to…the celebration started yesterday with the Geraldez, continues today with just us and ends tomorrow with the Naanos’.  Whoo hoo…

First of all, I want to say congratulations to the One Kick Wonders…who would have thunk that we would have a blast AND kick butt in kickball  

So yesterday was the playoffs for our kickball league.  We got there a little bit after 2 (we were at this awesome brunch at Tustin with Tricia/Jonas, Kara/Robert, and Michelle/Rocco) and watched the first 2 teams play.  Right off the bat, we knew today was going to be different.  Both teams on the field were very serious.  Timbol, who was 1st base ref, was getting an earful from both teams.  Sorry buddy!

Anyways, our game was at 3 against the red team.  It was a very close game…I think we won 5-3.  We got up 3-0 after I kicked my first home run of the season…whoo hoo.  Too bad I swung and missed on the previous pitch (my knee is a little tweaked this morning lol).  Anyways, there were some great plays and catches made by everybody.

After that game, we went on the play in the Championship game against the pink team.  They seem to be our Achilles heal since I think we never beat them on the regular season.  This one was also a close game…losing 2-0. 

It’s all good…great times were had by all.  Good job again One Kick Wonders.  Championship next season?

Nugget turned 2 today. Mamma T (Tricia) decided to throw a doggie party to celebrate Nugget turning into a teen. (2 human years = 14 doggy years) She invited all the dogs, decorated the condo, baked dog-friendly treats and even had party favors. The party favors were personalized dog bowls filled with fun dog toys. So cute! This was Nikki’s first time meeting Nugget and the other pups. She was a bit uncomfy. I’ve never seen her growl or bark as much in my life. Maybe it was because she was the new dog,in a new place and she couldn’t really wander around and get a feel for the new environment. It was funny because Nugget would just stare at her and she would get annoyed and bark at him. haha. Hopefully they can all play again, maybe in a more neutral area, and enjoy doggie time.

In celebration of our Ninong’s birthday the family had dinner at the Fish Grill. The 12 of us enjoyed tasty grilled fish entrees while sharing stories about our vacations: Alaskan cruise, RV tour to Yellowstone and Hawaii. Great family time!

Our Kickball league WAKA Riptide division held a charity event Sunday evening. It consisted of Flip Cup Competitions and a Date Auction, thank you Danny and Sam for being One Kick Wonder representatives. SAM backwards is MAS! haha. We raised money for a great cause and had loads of fun too. Of 4 rounds of Flip Cup, we had a OKW representative ( 2 winners each round) who won and qualified for the finals. Cousin, Danny, Marc and myself  each won a round! In the Finals 8 players competed. Marc was the Champion and I was 2nd runner up! Whoo whoo. Gooooo Green!

Sunday after Marc’s ocean swim we spent the afternoon with our Ninang Elvie and Jojie before they went back to Florida. We drove around to get pasalubong and had Thai BBQ for lunch. It was a great time full of laughs of laughs of course. They hope to visit again soon. Whoo whoo!
