So Saturday while Marc and I were on our way to TriLab in Santa Monica I thought I felt baby move. I was sitting shotgun and I just felt a little nudge. I totally gasped, told Marc and  I put my hands under my shirt to hold my belly and sure enough I felt another one.I was excited, but also unsure if that was baby or not. Maybe it was gas… again. I was hoping to feel another one… but no more. So I was suuppper excited, and even more so that Marc was there with me to experience it. Then I started thinking what if that wasn’t it? I kep going back and forth… and of course, emo me, I started to get all teary eyed. Was it baby moving or was it just crazy tummy action?

From what people are telling me and from what we’re reading in books the first “baby movement” should feel like “fluttering”. Kind of like butterflies in your stomach. This was no butterfly in my stomach feeling though. This was full on “hello mom, I’m inside” poke. My ultrasonographer said that since I’m so small I’ll be able to feel baby much sooner and with more force than other women at this stage. So could those nudges be baby saying hello?

Later that afternoon I was lying down on the couch watching a cheesy romantic comedy and I felt that nudge in my tummy again! I hurried and placed my hands on my tummy and closed my eyes to help tune out everything else. Then “nudge” again! So I knew for SURE something was going on. Then I lifted my shirt and looked at my tummy and I SAW a little poke come through my belly… like baby was kicking mama! 4 nudges total! Silly me I think each nudge is a word. So baby was saying: “Hi mom, I’m inside”!  It was incredible. Completely surreal.

I can’t wait for baby to make himself/herself noticed again. I talk to my belly hoping to encourage baby to give us a little “hello mom and dad”. This is so exciting!
