April 19th is just around the corner, but it doesn’t look like we’re going to make it that far. We met with Dr. Mats this morning for our now weekly appointments. Actually, Marc and I didn’t know what time our appointment was. We just knew it was this morning. When we got to the doctor’s office, they didn’t have us on the schedule. haha. Did I totally just make up that fact that we had an appointment?! I wouldn’t be surprised. Quite honestly, I’ve been very absentminded lately… some people call it “pregnant dumb”. It’s a sad truth about being pregnant. You just get super forgetful and you lack the ability to focus 100%, temporary A.D.D. if you will. Anyway, they were awesome enough to fit us right in.

It turns out I’m now 2cm dialated. :) The baby is still growing, so Dr. Mats suggested that if our baby doesn’t come out on his/her own within the week, we’re going to induce next week. this will help minimize the chance of needing a cesearen section. It’s all SO exciting. Of course, he highly recommended that I do more walking. It’s been tough though, since I don’t really have anyone to go walking with during the day. It’s best that I walk with a buddy in case I need help should anything happen. Walking with Nikki just isn’t going to cut it. haha.

I was hooked up to the fetal monitor. It can detect contractions and baby movement. I’m supposed to lie down for X amount of time will the machine monitors things that I may miss. I’m supposed to push this button if I feel anything as well. The graph in the end will show us 1) baby movements 2) contractions 3) if I’m catching the movements. Marc watched the monitor while i closed my eyes for the 15 minute session. I felt the baby move 6 times, but missed a bunch. The machine caught me having a contraction which I mistakenly thought was the baby moving. I could be confusing the 2. It was funny, during the contraction, Marc was like “whoa you’re having a contraction right now” and  I was like “really?”. haha. Being hooked up to the monitor was an awesome experience.

Please keep us in your prayers for a safe and healthy delivery.
